Introduction

These Terms govern your use of the TESORIN mobile application, trytesorin.com, the TESORIN web application, and related services provided by 16697518 Canada Inc. Together, these are referred to as the “Service.”

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, enabling a connected feature, approving a browser or device, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Please read this document carefully.

What users should know at a glance

• TESORIN is a personal finance organization, tracking, review, and planning tool. It is not a bank, broker, lender, tax preparer, insurer, accounting firm, money-transfer provider, or financial, legal, investment, or tax advisor.
• Signing in to the web application identifies your account but does not by itself make encrypted financial records available. A device that already has access must approve the browser.
• An approved browser or device can read and change synchronized financial records. Approve only devices you recognize and control, and remove access promptly if one is lost, sold, shared, or compromised.
• The first 7 days are account-based free access and do not require a payment card. Billing begins only after you confirm a paid purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Paid subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled through the store where they were purchased.
• Deleting the app or your TESORIN account does not cancel an active app-store subscription.
• Receipt scanning uses on-device text recognition to prepare information for your review. Scans and parsed results may be incomplete or inaccurate, so compare them with the paper receipt before saving or relying on them.
• Connected features, calculations, projections, market data, exchange rates, Ask responses, synchronization, backup, and restore may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or inaccurate.

Terms of use

Unless a specific section says otherwise, the following conditions apply whenever you use the Service.

Eligibility and account registration

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms in your jurisdiction. If you use TESORIN on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind them.

• Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
• Protect your devices, browsers, login credentials, passcodes, and authentication methods.
• Do not create accounts through bots or other automated methods.
• Do not share an account unless TESORIN expressly supports that use.
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account, encrypted records, or an approved device has been accessed without permission.

What TESORIN provides

TESORIN provides personal finance tracking, organization, review, and planning tools. Features may include expenses, income, accounts, budgets, assets, liabilities, investments, goals, tax records, receipt scanning and item-level receipt detail, regional tools, encrypted financial sync, approved web access, Family sync, encrypted backup, market data, and Ask features.

Features may be added, changed, limited, paused, or removed over time. Availability may vary by device, browser, platform, country, region, account, subscription, network connection, storage setting, or app-store policy.

No professional advice or regulated financial service

TESORIN does not hold funds, transfer money, execute trades, approve loans, issue credit, process bill payments, file tax returns, sell insurance, or provide individualized professional advice.

Information presented by the Service is for general planning and review. You remain responsible for verifying information and making your own financial, investment, tax, legal, insurance, and accounting decisions. Consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

Your records, devices, and responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, classification, review, correction, export, backup, and deletion of records you add to TESORIN, including information prepared from a receipt scan. Review recognized merchant names, dates, amounts, taxes, categories, and item details against the original receipt before saving or relying on them. You are also responsible for maintaining access to your approved devices and any third-party account used for sign-in, backup, subscription management, or connected features.

Protect approved browsers and devices, use supported and reasonably secure software, review linked devices, remove access that is no longer appropriate, and keep control of any screen displaying an approval code. On a shared or public computer, sign out, clear TESORIN site data, and remove the browser through linked-device controls.

Do not enter passwords, one-time codes, complete card numbers, complete bank account numbers, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive credentials into free-form fields or Ask questions.

Licence to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, TESORIN grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. This licence does not transfer ownership of TESORIN, its software, content, trademarks, designs, or other intellectual property.

Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and within the scope for which it is provided. These conduct rules apply in connection with the Service, including customer support, email, reviews, social-media communications, and other interactions with TESORIN.

TESORIN welcomes criticism, complaints, and feature requests. Disagreement, negative reviews, repeated feature requests, or strongly worded feedback do not, by themselves, violate these rules or justify account action.

You must not:

• use TESORIN for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, deceptive, or infringing activity;
• harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or engage in abusive conduct toward TESORIN, its employees, contractors, or representatives, other users, or third parties in connection with the Service;
• direct personal abuse, including targeted abusive or profane communications, toward those people, or continue abusive communications after being asked to stop;
• publish, disclose, seek, or attempt to expose someone’s private or personal information without consent for harassment, intimidation, or harm (doxxing);
• maliciously interfere with TESORIN, its infrastructure, accounts, or support channels, or deliberately attempt to compromise TESORIN or another person’s account;
• bypass security, device approval, access controls, paid access, rate limits, or account restrictions;
• interfere with, overload, disrupt, scrape, data-mine, reverse engineer, resell, or commercially exploit the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• introduce malware, malicious code, stolen credentials, or content that violates another person’s rights;
• misrepresent your identity, impersonate another person, or attempt unauthorized access to another account, device, or set of financial records; or
• use automated systems to access or interact with the Service without written permission.

Violations may lead to proportionate communication restrictions or account action as described under Account suspension or termination.

Content and intellectual property

TESORIN and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, including its software, interface, designs, text, graphics, trademarks, and related materials. You may not copy, modify, publish, distribute, sublicense, sell, or create derivative works from those materials except as allowed by law or expressly permitted by TESORIN.

You retain ownership of records and content you enter. You grant TESORIN only the rights reasonably necessary to operate, secure, synchronize, back up, restore, and support the Service according to your settings and the Privacy Policy.

Third-party services and external resources

TESORIN may rely on or link to third-party services, including Apple, Google, Supabase, RevenueCat, authentication providers, hosting and synchronization providers, cloud storage providers, market-data providers, analytics or diagnostics providers, AI providers, and app stores. Their own terms, privacy notices, availability, backup practices, and policies apply.

TESORIN does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their content, decisions, outages, changes, security, or continued availability.

Subscriptions and purchases

Free access

The first 7 days are account-based free access. No payment card is required, and this period does not automatically create or convert into a paid subscription.

App-store purchases

Paid plans are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. When you confirm a purchase, the applicable store charges your store account according to the price, currency, taxes, renewal period, and other terms shown before confirmation.

App-store purchases are also governed by the store’s terms. Where store terms conflict with these Terms on billing, cancellation, refunds, or subscription management, the store’s rules control.

Automatic renewal

Monthly or annual subscriptions may automatically renew for the same subscription period unless cancelled before the deadline shown by the applicable store. Renewal charges are handled by the store and may occur shortly before the current period ends.

Managing or cancelling a subscription

Manage or cancel a subscription through the account settings of the store where it was purchased. Deleting TESORIN, uninstalling the app, signing out, or deleting a TESORIN account does not cancel store billing.

Refund requests are handled by the applicable store under its refund rules. TESORIN cannot directly issue or guarantee refunds for purchases processed by Apple or Google.

Prices, taxes, regions, and promotions

Prices, taxes, currencies, product availability, introductory offers, and subscription terms may vary by country, region, platform, store, or eligibility. Promotions may be changed or withdrawn where permitted by law. Apple Family Sharing applies only where enabled for the plan and supported by Apple, the user’s region, and the user’s Family Sharing setup.

Lifetime Premium promotional access

TESORIN may grant promotional Premium access directly to an eligible TESORIN account without an app-store purchase. If your account has been granted Lifetime Premium, TESORIN will not require that account to purchase a monthly or annual TESORIN Premium subscription to retain its Lifetime Premium access.

Lifetime Premium includes the Premium features available to that account and ordinary improvements, updates, or replacements to features that remain part of the TESORIN Premium tier. TESORIN will not remove an existing Premium feature from a Lifetime Premium account solely to repackage substantially the same feature as a separately paid service.

TESORIN may introduce optional services, integrations, or separate products that are not part of the standard Premium tier, including services that depend on third-party providers, financial-institution connectivity, usage-based infrastructure, or other external services with ongoing costs. Those optional services may have separate eligibility, terms, usage limits, or pricing. Choosing not to purchase such an optional service does not cancel or convert an existing Lifetime Premium entitlement into a paid monthly or annual Premium subscription.

Lifetime Premium is attached to the eligible TESORIN account and is not transferable or redeemable for cash unless TESORIN expressly states otherwise.

Data and connected features

Device records

Some TESORIN records are stored on your device. Device loss, damage, deletion, operating-system changes, storage limits, loss of access information, or other local events may affect access to those records.

Encrypted financial sync and approved web access

Encrypted financial sync is optional and requires explicit enablement. Financial records are encrypted on an approved device before transmission. TESORIN’s sync service stores encrypted content and limited service data needed to provide, protect, and troubleshoot synchronization, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Signing in to the web application does not by itself make encrypted financial records available. A browser must be approved from a device that already has access. Once approved, the browser can view, create, edit, delete, and synchronize financial records. You are responsible for confirming that the browser and approval request are yours.

Synchronization depends on supported software, an available network connection, valid account and device authorization, and available third-party services. Changes may not arrive immediately, and interruptions, usage limits, storage conditions, or software defects may delay or prevent synchronization.

Camera and approval codes

For browser approval, the computer displays a code and the TESORIN mobile app asks for camera permission only after you choose to open its scanner. The browser does not need access to the computer’s camera for this flow. The mobile app processes camera frames to read the code and does not save or upload a pairing photograph, video, or continuous camera feed.

Scanning a code does not by itself grant access. TESORIN displays an approval request before adding the browser or device. If you cancel the request or deny camera permission, it is not approved through that scan.

Receipt scanning

On supported iOS and Android devices, you may choose to photograph a paper receipt and use on-device text recognition to prepare an expense entry and structured receipt detail. The feature requires camera permission but does not require photo-library access. You can decline or cancel the scan and enter the transaction manually.

Receipt recognition, parsing, merchant or item normalization, category suggestions, tax treatment, totals, line items, confidence scores, and reconciliation may be incomplete or inaccurate. TESORIN does not verify that a receipt is authentic, that a purchase occurred, that an item qualifies for a tax or business purpose, or that recognized information satisfies record-keeping requirements. Keep any original receipt you need and review and correct the scanned information before saving or relying on it.

The scan may prefill transaction fields and attach structured receipt detail to a Wallet transaction. The printed total, when recognized, is used only as a proposed amount for review; item lines are supporting analysis and are not posted again as separate spending. Removing receipt detail does not remove or change the transaction. Saved structured receipt detail may be included in encrypted sync and backup according to your settings and the Privacy Policy.

Receipt images and text recognition are processed on the device. TESORIN does not retain the photograph as the saved receipt record and attempts to delete the temporary image after recognition. Device, operating-system, storage, permission, camera, image-quality, language, print-quality, or recognition limitations may prevent or degrade scanning.

Browser storage and supported use

The web application is designed to process readable financial records within the active browser session rather than store them as a readable browser database after the session. Reloading or closing the page may require the session to be rebuilt from encrypted synchronization data.

An approved browser may retain encrypted security credentials and limited device-authorization information in browser storage so it can remain linked. Clearing TESORIN site data removes that local information and may require approval again. Signing out ends the account session, but it may not remove the browser as a linked device.

Private or incognito browsing, installed web-app modes, blocked storage, unsupported browsers, extensions, browser security settings, and storage clearing may prevent approval or normal use. Do not use approved web access on a device you do not control.

Access recovery and linked devices

TESORIN does not use your account password as the encryption key for financial sync and does not hold a separate recovery key that can decrypt your synced records. If every approved device and every usable copy of the required access information is lost or erased, the encrypted records may become permanently unrecoverable. Deleting unreadable encrypted records and starting again does not restore the previous data.

Disabling sync on one device or clearing its local access information may remove that device’s access without deleting records available to other approved devices. Removing a linked device is intended to stop future access. It cannot remotely erase information that the device already received, displayed, exported, copied, photographed, or otherwise retained.

You are responsible for reviewing linked devices, removing access promptly, preserving at least one usable approved device where continued access matters, and understanding the consequences shown before disabling sync or removing local access information.

Encrypted backup

Optional backup may use iCloud on iOS or Google Drive on supported non-iOS platforms. Backup and restore depend on your settings, password, available storage, network connection, account access, platform services, and compatible app versions. You are responsible for confirming that a backup exists and can be restored when needed.

Family sync

Family sync may transmit encrypted financial content and operational information needed to deliver changes between authorized participants. You are responsible for choosing participants carefully, removing access when appropriate, and understanding that authorized participants may view or change shared information according to the feature’s permissions.

Sign in, Face ID, Siri, App Intents, and Live Activities

Optional platform features may depend on Apple, Google, your device settings, and operating-system permissions. Biometric authentication is performed by your device or platform provider; TESORIN does not receive your fingerprint or facial template.

Shortcut input

TESORIN does not directly access Apple Wallet history and does not use FinanceKit. A user may create an Apple Shortcuts automation that sends selected transaction details to TESORIN as Shortcut Input. TESORIN receives only the information supplied by that automation.

Market data and Ask

Market prices and exchange rates

Market prices, charts, exchange rates, fund information, and search results may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. They are not guaranteed to reflect executable prices or current market conditions.

Ask features

Ask output may be incomplete, outdated, misleading, or inaccurate. It may not account for all relevant facts, laws, taxes, risks, or personal circumstances. Do not rely on Ask as a substitute for professional advice or independent verification.

Service management

Changes, interruptions, and discontinuation

TESORIN may update, modify, limit, interrupt, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. Availability may be affected by maintenance, network conditions, provider outages, platform requirements, device or browser settings, access availability, subscription status, security concerns, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Account suspension or termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a material breach of these Terms, unlawful activity, security risk, non-payment, misuse, or a legal or platform requirement. This includes violations of the Acceptable use rules.

For conduct violations, we take proportionate action based on the seriousness, repetition, impact, and safety or security risk of the conduct. Our usual approach is:

1. Warning. Explain the concern and ask that the conduct stop.
2. Communication or support restriction. Limit communications through an affected channel or decline nonessential support interactions if abusive conduct continues.
3. Account suspension or termination. Restrict Service functionality or temporarily suspend access for serious or repeated violations, including while investigating a safety or security risk. Permanent termination may follow a serious or repeated material breach.

We may skip these steps and immediately restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect people, TESORIN, or the Service. Examples include credible threats, harassment presenting a safety risk, doxxing, fraud, security attacks, deliberate attempts to compromise TESORIN or another account, or unlawful conduct.

Where practical and legally permitted, we will explain the reason for action and provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue. Communication restrictions do not remove your ability to make privacy, account-deletion, billing, or security requests. You may send those requests, or ask us to review an account action, to hello@trytesorin.com; we may require account verification and limit how communications are handled.

Promotional, complimentary, or Lifetime Premium status does not prevent TESORIN from restricting, suspending, or terminating an account where permitted under these Terms. The same conduct rules apply regardless of access status. We will not take account action solely because an account has Lifetime Premium or because continuing to provide that entitlement has a cost.

You may stop using TESORIN at any time. Account deletion is available through the app under Settings > Legal or through the instructions on the account deletion section. Subscription cancellation remains separate. Account deletion may remove active encrypted data from TESORIN’s live services but does not necessarily remove local records, browser site data, exports, third-party backups, or store purchase records.

Warranties and liability

No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. TESORIN does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, complete, accurate, compatible with every device or browser, or suitable for a particular purpose.

TESORIN does not guarantee calculations, projections, classifications, market data, Ask responses, receipt capture, text recognition, parsing, merchant or item normalization, category suggestions, tax treatment, totals, line items, reconciliation, import, export, browser or device approval, synchronization, linked-device removal, backup, restore, or recovery results.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 16697518 Canada Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, opportunities, goodwill, records, or data arising from or related to the Service.

TESORIN is not responsible for financial decisions, inaccurate entries or outputs, receipt-scan or OCR errors, loss of an original receipt, market-data errors, tax consequences, investment outcomes, device or access loss, approval of the wrong browser, use of a shared or compromised device, third-party service failures, or approval, synchronization, device removal, backup, restore, export, import, or recovery failures.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including any non-waivable consumer rights.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify 16697518 Canada Inc. against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your material breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

App-store provisions

Apple App Store

These Terms are between you and 16697518 Canada Inc., not Apple. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for TESORIN, except as required by applicable law. Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual-property claims, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on a United States government prohibited or restricted-party list, to the extent this confirmation is required by Apple’s applicable terms.

Google Play

Where TESORIN is obtained through Google Play, Google’s applicable distribution, billing, refund, and account terms also apply.

Common provisions

Privacy

Our handling of personal information, receipt scans and structured receipt details, encrypted financial data, service data, approved browser access, and camera-based approval is described in the Privacy Policy. Additional information about security, platform features, and account deletion is available on the Safety page.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service, law, business, features, security practices, or platform requirements change. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice before material changes take effect.

The acceptable-use and account-enforcement updates dated September 12, 2026 apply only to conduct occurring on or after they take effect for you. They take effect on the effective date below, or any later date required by applicable law or specified in a notice to you. Earlier conduct is assessed under the Terms that applied when it occurred.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription separately through the applicable store.

Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless the mandatory law of your location requires otherwise.

Any mandatory consumer-protection rights available in your country, province, state, or region remain unaffected.

Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

No waiver

A failure to enforce a provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision or any other right.

Assignment

TESORIN may assign or transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, asset transfer, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without written permission.

Entire agreement

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any purchase or feature-specific terms presented to you form the agreement between you and TESORIN regarding the Service.
